Help with GuitarNotch.
Something not working, or an idea? Write to apps@zuma-it.com. Say which Mac and which version of macOS you use, and the version of GuitarNotch (Settings › About).
Where is the app?
GuitarNotch has no Dock icon and no window at launch. It lives in the notch at the top of your MacBook's screen: move the pointer onto the notch and the panel drops down. Its icon in the menu bar opens every tab, the settings and Quit. On a Mac without a notch, GuitarNotch draws one at the top edge of the screen.
The tuner hears nothing
- Allow the microphone: System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone, switch on GuitarNotch.
- Playing through an audio interface? Pick it, and the channel your guitar is on, in Settings › Audio or with the Input button on the tuner.
- Watch the input meter beside the tuner. If it stays dark, no sound arrives.
Where are my riffs and takes?
In your Music folder, in GuitarNotch Riffs and GuitarNotch Takes, unless you picked another folder in Settings › Files. When you change the folder, GuitarNotch offers to move what is already there.
A video won't play
Some owners keep their videos off other players, and then YouTube refuses them everywhere outside youtube.com. YouTube also refuses videos when it doesn't trust your network: if a VPN is on, turn it off and try again. A video pauses when its player is out of sight, as YouTube requires; open the notch or the window again to carry on.
Shortcuts
Each tab has a key of its own, and you can change them all in Settings › Shortcuts: ⌃⌥T tuner, ⌃⌥M metronome, ⌃⌥R catch a riff, ⌃⌥P practice, ⌃⌥V videos.
Open at login
Off until you switch it on in Settings › General. You can also change it in System Settings › General › Login Items.
